Double chocolate banana bread brownie

What did the monkey say to the banana?

I find you appeeling. Get it? Get it? xD

I have been away from this space for quite sometime now and I guess that has taken it’s toll xD. Jokes apart, I’ve been away because I was in the process of moving to a new place (I still don’t have a cupboard and my clothes are in a box). After the move I had to wait until the internet, gas and other things were sorted. Plus, with the last ten days of Ramadan, things got a little hectic. But, just the other day I found a few ripe bananas in my fridge and was able to make this amazing banana bread brownie. It’s pretty simple to make and disappears before it cools 🙂 One thing to keep in mind is not to bake the brownie for too long, because that will result in a hard brownie. Let’s move on to the recipe 🙂

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 large super ripe bananas, mashed
  • 3 tablespoon milk
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoon chocolate chips (2 tablespoons for sprinkling on top)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180C or 350F
  2. Grease a 9”X13” sheet cake pan with butter
  3. In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder
  4. In another bowl, whisk the butter and sugar. Then add the egg and vanilla. Whisk, whisk, whisk!
  5. Next, stir in the milk and add the bananas
  6. Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture, then add the chocolate chips and fold. You will get a thick mixture
  7. Pour the batter in your pan and sprinkle with chocolate chipsSAMSUNG CSC
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle
  9. Once done, allow it to cool completely before cutting
